


DIOGO CARVALHO
Diogo Carvalho is a performer, composer, scholar and professor with experience in electroacoustic, concert, popular, jazz, and Brazilian music.
He was a guitar professor at the Municipal School of Music of Sao Paulo (Brazil), one of the most important music education institutions in Latin America, where he worked with Paulo Porto Alegre and Everton Gloeden. In 2015, Carvalho was assigned a PhD scholarship in Music Composition at the University of Florida, and presently lives in Gainesville, Fl.
As a virtuoso guitarist in both concert and popular music venues,
Diogo Carvalho performs and records solo concertos and chamber music. His CD Impressionism – Acoustic Guitar Solo(2008),
in which he transcribed for the guitar works by Debussy and Ravel,
was praised as “highly recommended” by the well-known
Classical Guitar Magazine. His third CD, Calavento Duo (2013)
for violin and guitar, contains many original compositions,
applauded in Brazil, Russia, Germany, Austria, and Italy.
With LADAaLADO quartet, Diogo Carvalho performed Brazilian music
in a tour through Russia in 2013, from Moscow to Tuva (Siberia).
In Brazil, he has worked with great artists such as Leila Pinheiro,
Roberto Sion, Seis Com Casca, Raïff Dantas Barreto and Hermeto Pascoal, in addition to the longstanding partnership with Ulisses Rocha.
