Considered one of Brazil’s finest guitarist/composers in the past twenty years, Ulisses Rocha has achieved international acclaim with his performances in international festivals in United States, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Russia, Cuba, Syria, Kuwait, Zimbabwe, Paraguay, France, Lithuania, Japan, Netherlands, and Belgium. Presently he lives in Gainesville, FL.

 

He has collaborated with renowned Brazilian artists such as Gal Costa and Cesar Camargo Mariano and recorded with Hermeto Pascoal. He has also shared the stage in special performances with Egberto Gismonti, Al Di Meola, Eliane Elias, Marco Pereira, Toquinho, and Paulo Belinatti. A prolific performer, Ulisses Rocha has recorded 13 CD's, 3 video tapes and a guitar book. In addition to his own compositions, he has also recorded numerous collections and works by other artists.

 

Mr. Rocha is currently a visiting professor at the University of Florida, where he performs and records as a soloist, but also continues his musical collaborations with some of Brazil’s most prominent artists. Mr. Rocha teaches at Unicamp (University of Campinas, Brazil) since 1990 and in (2012-2013) was a Bacardi Scholar at the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida.
